LORAIN® -190VDC Converter System

The LORAIN® -190VDC Converter System provides -190 VDC bulk power for broadband FTTx. The 190VDC Converter System utilizes state of the art technology to provide the highest power density and system reliability in the industry combined with the most cost effective method of powering FTTx networks.

Four (4) bulk power DC to DC converters provide n+1 redundant -190VDC power from a -48VDC buss. The system further consists of 14 line card modules providing a total of 112 output channels of -190VDC. Each output channel provides 100VA of power, current limit, and ground fault protection. A control and maintenance module provides major and minor alarms as well as complete line card module functionality to enable replacing a line card module without interrupting customer service.

The system is designed and tested for compliance with all safety requirements including Telcordia, UL, CSA and CE.

The bulk power design is the perfect combination of high power density, reliability and cost effectiveness in deployment of FTTx networks. Its unique maintenance feature allows replacement and maintenance without interruption of service. The -190VDC Converter System can be either rack or cabinet mounted to suit a large number of applications.
