BD FloodPlug™ pedestals are a complete family of non-metallic BD pedestals accepted for use by the RDUP. BD FloodPlug™ provides flood protection, and 360° access, in a non-metallic closure for outside plant cable splices, block terminations, and load coil assemblies. It accommodates buried wires, cables, terminal blocks, and load coils; and serves as aboveground closures for splicing and distributing buried plant where flood protection, 360° access, or nonmetallic pedestals are required.
- 6 AWG grounding capability and RDUP-accepted shield isolation bonding/grounding assembly meets RDUP requirements for cable shield isolation
- Seamless integral flood dome protects splices from flood
- Slanted dome keeps standing water off the pedestal and allows inside condensation to run off the sides
- Lift-off cover for 360° access to all splices and terminations
- Self-latching mechanism automatically secures dome and prevents it from rising off the base as external water level rises
- HMHDPE material provides greater impact resistance than other plastics and does not accelerate cracked PIC
- Rectangular shape for greater splice capacity and soil stabilization
