Emerson Network Power Showcases Integrated Enclosure
Offering Increased Flexibility for Backup Power Solutions
NetXtend™ Series Featured at Communications Conference
DALLAS, Texas [April 24, 2008] - Emerson Network Power (NYSE: EMR), the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity™, featured its NetXtend™
series of Integrated Enclosure Solutions during two days of product demonstrations at this week's Emerson Communications Conference.
The NetXtend series offers outdoor enclosure options integrated not only with traditional battery backup power, but also with fuel cells.
Fuel cells weigh less, operate virtually silently, and have an extended lifespan
- making them an attractive option for some deployments in
residential neighborhoods or on rooftops where batteries may be too heavy.
"It is imperative that Emerson Network Power solutions provide not only the quality and reliability our customers expect, but also the flexibility
to meet their changing business demands," said Manish Bhandari, vice president, global sales and marketing, Emerson Network Power's Energy Systems business.
"While traditional battery backup remains a critical part of the existing IT and telecommunications infrastructure and is central to our business, industry changes
make it absolutely necessary that our solutions - including the NetXtend series
- meet our customers' evolving needs."
NetXtend integrated enclosures are designed for extended outdoor battery backup at telecom central office and Outside Plant sites and can replace diesel generators
and existing battery backup systems. They provide increased reliability and battery life thanks to the integrated enclosure system that offers protection from the
elements and other outside threats.
The Emerson Communications Conference, being held April 23-24 at the Omni Dallas Hotel at Park West in Dallas, is showcasing the latest
technologies and solutions for the telecommunications and IT industries and bringing together industry leaders to discuss issues facing
telecommunications providers as they move ahead with widespread broadband deployment. For more information on the conference, visit
