An access control point, can be a door, turnstile, parking gate, elevator, or other physical barrier where granting access can be electronically controlled. These control points typically do not make an access decision but send information, (using a card reader or key pad) to an access control panel that verifies the input against an access list. Power quality issues can render these sensitive electronics useless, possibly resulting in serious security breaches.
