Non-Isolated DC-DC Converters

Emerson Network Power's portfolio of Non-Isolated DC-DC Converters is one of the most extensive in the industry. It includes five application-optimized product families, together with a series of specialized memory power and voltage regulator modules (VRMs) for processors, spanning an output current range of 3 to 105 A.

Non-isolated dc-dc converters enable electronic designers to overcome the challenges caused by the high peak current demands and low noise margins of high-performance semiconductor devices, by placing individual dc sources near their point of use. This minimizes losses caused by voltage drops, helps overcome noise sensitivity and EMI emission issues, and ensures tight regulation under dynamic load conditions.

The non-isolated dc-dc converters that are listed on this page are capable of satisfying every aspect of silicon power, including processors, memory, FPGAs, DSPs and ASICs, as well as standard digital and analog integrated circuits.

Emerson Network Power's C-Class Non-Isolated DC-DC Converters are expressly designed for cost-critical applications. They provide industry-leading value, high levels of power conversion efficiency, and span an output current range of 3 A to 40 A. All C-Class Non-Isolated DC-DC Converters feature wide output voltage adjustability and are available in through-hole vertical, through-hole horizontal and surface-mount versions.

Emerson Network Power's E-Class Non-Isolated DC-DC Converters provide world-class performance, with conversion efficiencies as high as 96% and current densities up to 140 A/in3. Spanning an output current range of 5 to 30 A, the converters feature wide output voltage adjustability and are available in through-hole vertical and surface-mount versions.

Emerson Network Power's F-Class Non-Isolated DC-DC Converters combine an unprecedented 300 A/µs transient response with a current density in excess of 72 A/in3. These highly integrated modules are expressly designed to occupy minimal board space and to minimize the number of external capacitors needed around fast silicon. There is a choice of single-in-line (SIL) through-hole and surface mount versions
Emerson Network Power's DDR12 Module is a high current, dual-output power module for DDR memory. It provides a complete and very compact solution, generating both 25 A @ 2.5 Vdc for the main Vddq supply and 8 A @ 1.25 Vdc for Vtt termination.

Emerson Network Power's POLA compliant Non-Isolated DC-DC Converters are pin-for-pin compatible with those produced by other members of the Point-of-Load Alliance. An exceptionally wide range of configuration options maximizes applications flexibility.

Emerson Network Power's range of POLA compliant Non-Isolated DC-DC Converters includes a number of modules designed specifically for bus termination in DDR and QDR memory applications. Capable of sourcing and sinking current, these modules accurately track their Vref input to generate a Vtt bus termination voltage in the range 0.55 to 1.8 Vdc. The converters offer a choice of through-hole and surface-mount configurations.
Today's processor technologies are among the most demanding loads in terms of current levels and transient performance. Emerson Network Power closely tracks the processor roadmaps of Intel™ and AMD™, and offers a range of VRMs to power the latest processors. These special-purpose Non-Isolated DC-DC Converters offer a host of designer-friendly features, such as pluggable form factors and very low profiles.
