ATCA I/O Blades

Through the use of industry standard mezzanines like the Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC), these blades are designed for flexibility, and can be optimized to meet the needs of your applications. Common applications include:

  • SS7 signaling gateways with T1/E1 interfaces
  • 3G RNCs with ATM I/O and signalling interfaces
  • IP packet gateway interfaces with security and network address translation requirements
  • Modular computing applications with processor AMCs for Intel® Architecture, PowerPC® or Cavium OCTEON processing

Differentiating features of these blades include support for 10Gb/s fabrics; redundant boot banks of flash; reset persistent memory for black box data logging; backplane clock interfaces; and flexible options for on-board storage.

Open standards based AMC modules are available from either Emerson or one of our ecosystem partners.

The ATCA-7301 is a high performance AdvancedTCA® processor blade for data and control plane applications, designed according to PICMG® 3.0 Revision 2.0 AdvancedTCA base specification which makes it ideally suited for the telecom and datacom markets.
Katana®PPB Processor Blades can be equipped with up to six Freescale PowerPC® MPC7448 processors, each processor complex with its own DRAM and flash memory. It is also equipped with a high-speed PICMG® 3.1-compliant ATCA® interface.
