Arnstorf, August 1, 2012 – Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) and a glob leader in optimizing availability, capacity and efficiency of critical infrastructure, announced today that Reinhard Purzer will be leading the Knuerr racks and solutions business in Arnstorf. As vice president of Emerson Network Power’s Knuerr racks and solutions business in EMEA, Reinhard Purzer will be responsible for the further development and expansion of the business for server racks as well as for integrated IT racks. A special focus will be placed on the intensification of the businesses outside of the DACH region in which Emerson Network Power’s Knürr racks and solutions traditionally has very strong representation. As a result of the integration of the Knuerr racks and solutions business area into the comprehensive solution concept at Emerson Network Power, customers throughout Europe will be able to profit from the innovative rack solutions and the outstanding consulting services involving all aspects of data processing center optimization. The high name recognition of Emerson Network Power will be beneficial for the Knürr racks and solutions business in the other European countries. Reinhard Purzer will be replacing Dr. Oliver Bensch in the management of Emerson Network Power’s Knürr racks and solutions business, who will be leaving the company on September 30, 2012 after 10 years of service. In recent years, Dr. Bensch has played a crucial role in the positive business performance of Knuerr racks and solutions at Emerson.
Reinhard Purzer brings a wealth of relevant experience to his new tasks and challenges. The industrial engineer (FH) worked as an export manager at Knürr AG from 2000 to 2006. From 2006 until the end of 2009, he served as vice president of sales south Europe at system provider Rittal GmbH & Co. KG and subsequently as vice president of global business development IT. Since the beginning of 2010, he has been employed at Emerson Network Power’s Energy Systems business as managing director for European sales. In his new position, Reinhard Purzer reports to Ken Poczekaj, president Emerson Network Power Systems in EMEA.
Reinhard Purzer started his career in Upper Italy after studying industrial engineering at the Munich University of Applied Sciences and participating in the MBA program of the GfW Gesellschaft für Weiterbildung. In Milan, he worked as a product manager at Siemens S.p.A. from 1996 to 1998. He then moved to Vicenza, where he acted as responsible Sales & Marketing Director at Fiamm Group S.p.A. for two years.
