The new enclosures may be used to house small power systems with smart meter reading, hybrid power controllers, fiber and much more, in a wide range of applications such as DAS, FTTx, cellular base stations, mobile backhaul and remote power solutions.

“The NetXtend Compact family of enclosures is a new and versatile product offering that delivers economical, long-lasting protection for advanced electronic equipment in a variety of applications” said Jim Wiemer, director of product line management for Emerson Network Power’s Energy Systems business. “These enclosures effectively push both wireless and wireline networks closer to the subscriber and provide easy integration into next generation networks such as smart meter applications.”

The NetXtend Compact family adds to Emerson Network Power’s portfolio of NetXtend solutions for the outside plant. Three compact models are available: NetXtend 2410 (24”H x 24”W x 10”D); NetXtend 2416 (24”H x 24”W x 16”D) and NetXtend 3816 (38”H x 24”W x 16”D). All may be wall, pole, stake or pad mounted. Each is available with either a plywood backboard or 19” equipment mounting rack, with the largest enclosure also capable of housing a vertical 23” rack.
