Stratos transceiver enables Analogic’s next generation aviation security CT scanner to double efficiency
Bannockburn, IL April 2, 2009– Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE:EMR) and the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity™ would like to announce that the Stratos product line of the Connectivity Solutions business has achieved a design win with Analogic for the L-3 eXaminerTM XLB Explosives Detection System (EDS), a next generation checked baggage scanner. The eXaminer XLB is designed and manufactured by Analogic with integration, installation, training and maintenance support services, marketing and sales provided by L-3 Communications through an exclusive partnership agreement.
The Stratos dual 2.5G receiver operating at 850nm provides a high speed data transfer solution for the eXaminer XLB, enabling the system to produce enhanced, high-resolution 3-D images of all the contents of a bag or parcel generated in real time. This optical video transport technology is commonly used in security systems, the ultrasound market, and wafer die inspection equipment.
The eXaminer XLB is a next generation automatic EDS for ultra high throughput checked baggage screening. The eXaminer XLB can scan more than 1,100 bags per hour making it the highest capacity Computed Tomography (CT) EDS in the industry.
