Emerson Network Power Continues Market Diversification Strategy

Joins VME International Trade Association to underline commitment to becoming supplier of choice across industries

TEMPE, Ariz. [September 24, 2009] – Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE:EMR) and the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity™, today announced an important step in its Embedded Computing business strategy to become the supplier of choice for industrial and commercial original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), announced earlier this year.

Joining the VME International Trade Association (VITA) is the latest in a series of new initiatives, driven by Emerson’s outstanding planning process and underpinned by manufacturing excellence, which will broaden the company’s appeal to makers of commercial, industrial automation, government, medical and military/aerospace equipment. While Emerson already has a significant presence in these vertical markets, this strategy demonstrates that Emerson is intent on leveraging its financial strength to consolidate its leadership position in embedded computing solutions for telecommunications and network equipment.

“Emerson is celebrating shipping over two million VME boards and this technology will continue to be a critical part of our product portfolio as well as a key technology into the military, aerospace, government and automation markets, so I am please to announce that we have rejoined VITA,” said Paul Virgo, director of marketing, Embedded Computing, Emerson Network Power. “In the past, Motorola Computer Group, Force Computers, Heurikon and several other parts of our rich and accomplished embedded computing heritage, were all VITA members. This is the place to be for all things VME.”
