Embedded Building Blocks
The embedded building blocks initiative integrates a modular computing engine, in the form of COM Express® modules, with standardized carrier boards, Mini-ITX cases and the accessories required to enable rapid, cost-efficient production. It is a simple and brilliant way for you to design scalable, fanless embedded computers from a library of pre-tested parts.
Using embedded building blocks can speed your product development and enable you to focus on differentiating your product to gain market share. Emerson has collaborated with Intel® and other industry players to bring together all the ingredients needed for you to create compact, robust industrial computers. Just a few modules enable you to serve many different applications, including:
- Digital security and monitoring
- Digital signage
- Gaming
- Industrial automation and controls
- In-vehicle infotainment
- Medical technology
- Military/aerospace
- Government/school/training
- Retail (POS/kiosk/ATM)
- Transportation
The Emerson Network Power COM Express modules that have been tested to operate within the embedded building block initiative are the COMX-420, COMX-430 and COMX-440.
The list of modules is being extended as more products are being tested over time, so check back frequently.
All modules have been tested with the TQ Components ComSys carrier card and the Apra enclosure from the building blocks program.
