Emerson Network Power’s Next-Generation Static UPS Trinergy™ Cube Receives Industry Leading ECA Certification

ECA certification brings UK customers substantial savings and tax benefits
Southampton, UK [19 November, 2014] – Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) and a global leader in maximising availability, capacity and efficiency of critical infrastructure, has today announced that its next-generation Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), the Trinergy™ Cube, has achieved the Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) certification for energy saving products.
This certification enables Emerson Network Power’s UK customers purchasing the Trinergy Cube to write off the full cost of the solution from the first year’s taxable profits. By helping reduce customers’ energy use and overall carbon footprint, the Trinergy Cube is therefore also facilitating substantial cost savings.
In order to be eligible for the accreditation, the Trinergy Cube had to comply with strict criteria set out by the ECA and pass stringent performance tests, confirming that it matches the specific energy saving standards. As a result, Trinergy Cube has now been inserted into the Energy Technology List, managed by the Carbon Trust.
“We are proud to announce that the Trinergy Cube complies with the strict standards set by the ECA scheme, highlighting our full commitment to driving sustainable business,” stated David Bond, managing director, Emerson Network Power in UK and Ireland. “By purchasing the Trinergy Cube, our customers now benefit from further cost savings along with guaranteed availability, exceptional efficiency levels and a widely accepted certification which acts as recognition of our customers’ commitment to sustainable operations and to minimising their carbon footprint.”
The Trinergy Cube is designed to meet the needs of enterprise-class data centres, offering unparalleled scalability to support organisations as they adapt to today’s ever-changing and complex business environment. With class leading power density, optimised efficiency at partial load conditions and hot scalability, this solution delivers operational capabilities not previously available in the market.
Trinergy Cube can reach up to 3 MW in a single static UPS and 24 MW in parallel, enabling capacity levels previously only achieved by rotary UPS solutions. The extreme high-power density within the single unit ensures that data centre managers can make the best use of available floor space, overcoming space constraints and helping address rising real estate costs. Its flexible design enables a highly scalable solution up to 20 MW in a parallel system. It can also be easily configured in an L-shape or back-to-back to suit the layout of a wide range of installation spaces. Trinergy Cube’s scalable and flexible design combines additional features including average operational efficiency of 98.5 per cent, and up to 99.5 per cent maximum efficiency.
Emerson Network Power will be showcasing the Trinergy Cube during this week’s DatacenterDynamics Converged London event taking place from 19th - 20th November. To find out more about the Trinergy Cube, visit Emerson Network Power at the event, located on stand number 221 or visit
