New rack PDU designed to provide reliable power supply and high availability while operating at high temperatures
SOUTHAMPTON, UK [9 December, 2015] – Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) and the world’s leading provider of critical infrastructure for information and communications technology systems, today announced the availability of the MPE rack PDU
throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa. This basic power distribution unit
(PDU) guarantees reliability and connectivity while offering market-leading operating temperatures of up to 60 degrees Celsius.
The Emerson MPE features a larger input cable than the industry standard, providing customers with a higher power load, and as a result enhanced availability. This product also includes an innovative safety lock mechanism preventing IT cables from accidentally being disconnected. Its slim, compact design can easily be integrated into the rack without the use of tools. When combined with Emerson Network Power’s Knürr® DCM
enclosures, it also offers a SpeedMount option, which further simplifies the installation and provides extra space for cables as well as other components. These features, coupled with the product’s ability to operate at extreme temperatures, offer a best-in-class, robust and efficient basic PDU solution for any data centre.
“The Emerson MPE is a natural addition to our existing product range of switched and metered PDUs as we can now cater to all data centre requirements,” said Dr. Peter Koch, VP solutions and complexity management, Racks and Integrated Solutions, Emerson Network Power in EMEA. “Its compact aluminium profile and ultra-flat circuit breakers offer our customers a space-saving solution while expanding cable input dimension. Combined with its ability to operate at extreme temperatures, this product offers outstanding availability and reliability when delivering power, even in the harshest conditions.”
