DataCentre Transformation Manchester

DataCentre Transformation Manchester

Date: July 12, 2016

Venue: University of Manchester, UK

Emerson Network Power will be sponsoring and attending Data Centre Transformation on 12th July 2016 at The University of Manchester.

DT Manchester is the leading data centre education event in the calendar, bringing together the data centre vendor industry, the data centre research and design community, and end users, for a knowledge sharing exchange.

There will be 9 Workshop sessions held across the day, including a Cooling workshop which our data centre optimisation expert, Simon Brady will be on the discussion panel. The workshops allow delegates to earn valuable CPD points and meet and chat to leading vendors.

The Cooling Workshop titled: “Outside Heat Removal” will take place from 11:00am to 12:10pm. Robert Tozer, Managing Director of Operational Intelligence, will be chairing the workshop.

Workshop Abstract:

Cooling is still a major overhead to the operation of data centres, but over the last 10 years great strides have been made in making the cooling system efficient with the reduction or complete removal of refrigeration technologies. There is convergence in terms of the equipment available from the manufacturers. However, heat removal using air from the thousands of small heat sources is still not that well understood or achieved in many situations. So on the one hand the cooling manufacturers have the equipment that does a very efficient job, but the air flow management can be the PUE's Achilles heel. This workshop will explore these issues.
