Power Manager Xp

Real-Time Measurement and Monitoring

The ASCO Power Manager Xp, Catalog No. 5220, collects real-time single or three-phase power information from engine-generators, utility, paralleling switchgear and automatic transfer switches.

The 5220 PMXp utilizes digital signal processing technology to measure voltage and phase currents while actively computing real, reactive and apparent power and bi-directional energy. Programmable KW low/high setpoints and configurable output relays provide control functions for various applications.

Monitoring capability is achieved via the local display or other PowerQuest interface products. The 5220 is equipped with RS-485 and SCI ports for remote monitoring applications. It supports ASCO proprietary protocols as well as the industry’s open Modbus protocol. Digital inputs are used to monitor external alarms and other discrete status signals.

Power Metering

  • Line-to-line, line-to-neutral and average voltages
  • Frequency between the range of 45.0 to 66.0 Hertz
  • Current per phase and average.
  • Voltage and current unbalance.
  • Real power net and per phase.
  • Reactive power net and per phase.
  • Apparent power net and per phase.
  • Real energy imported, exported and net.
  • Reactive energy imported, exported and net.
  • Power factor per phase and net.
  • Apparent net energy.

Data Access

  • Eight digital inputs and four relay outputs with user definable names from LCD screen display.

Configurable Designations

  • View metering and IO status locally from four line 20 character backlit display.
  • Monitor parameters through an ASCO Critical Power Monitoring System or over Modbus when equipped with an ASCO Connectivity Module (Acc. 72E)

Integrated Features When Mounted On ASCO Transfer Switch

  • Energy data from load is accumulated as either normal or emergency parameters using transfer switch position (Acc 85L or 85SB).
  • Monitor status of ASCO bypass-isolation switch, whether in test or isolated positions, or bypassed to a source (Acc 85SB).

The ASCO 5220 can be connected to Load, Normal and/or Emergency. It may be ordered with a display or without providing only with transducer functions. More information can be found under the Product Information tab.
