Process, management, and standards drive better results.
The largest barrier to adopting any DCIM tool is populating the data effectively, efficiently, accurately and quickly. Invariably the reason for DCIM tool adoption is due to the lack of reliable information in the existing infrastructure, often only highlighted when a major event has occurred attributed to the lack of information.
Collecting the available information can be a timely and costly exercise, and the purpose of DCIM is to ensure the data once collected can be maintained reliably and effiicently. However if a tool cannot be populated the benefits cannot be realised, thus preventing the resolution of the original issue.
Emerson Network Power has implemented many DCIM applications through legacy applications to customers and has worked with multiple Auditors Partners around the globe to capture data and ensure an accurate, well-managed data population process.
