Experts to showcase NetSure™ 400V DC power system for telecom and data center applications
Tokyo, Japan [October 15, 2015] – In light of emerging trends and evolving technologies in the telecommunications market, Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) and the world’s leading provider of critical infrastructure for information and communications technology systems, today announced its participation at the 2015 International Telecommunications Energy Conference (INTELEC) in Osaka, Japan. Global telecom experts from Emerson Network Power will share the latest strategies and solutions to optimize the infrastructure of communications networks during the five-day event.
INTELEC is an annual technical forum presenting the latest in communications power systems, energy storage and energy conversion. This year, the conference’s theme is on smart green energy for telecommunications and will include key note and plenary sessions from industry leaders.
“The telecom industry continues to flourish with the roll-out of more value-added mobile services, mobile video and social media applications and digital lifestyle solutions. But while this opens up excellent opportunities for telecom operators, there is a need to address the growing challenge of delivering high bandwidth services reliably and with high network quality to support rapid expansion,” said Chee Hoe Ling, vice president of product and solutions for Emerson Network Power in Asia. “Participating at this year’s INTELEC is a great opportunity for us to present our technologies to optimize telecom networks, from mobile to broadband networks.”
Emerson experts will share best practices on maximizing telecom efficiency through the deployment of NetSure™ 400V DC power systems; hybrid energy technologies for cell sites; the use of integrated modular solutions; and the implementation of facility monitoring.
- Sara Lisy, senior product manager, 400V DC, Emerson Network Power in North America – “Three Case Studies of Commercial Deployment of 400V DC Data/Telecom Centers in the EMEA Region”
- Domagoj Talapko, proposal manager, Emerson Network Power in Croatia – “Influence of Availability on the Cost Analysis of Solar Powered Data Centers with AC and DC Architectures and Mirroring Functionality”
- Chen Hong Wong, director, telecom sales, Southeast Asia, Emerson Network Power in Asia – “Hybrid Energy Deployment: What to Consider when Enabling Alternative Energy Sources at the Cell Site;” “Bridging the Gap Towards an Intelligent Telecom Facility”
- Cal Lahteenmaa, technical director, telecoms, Emerson Network Power in Asia – “Evaluating and Deploying Integrated Modular Solutions for Telecom”
In addition to her presentation, Emerson’s 400V DC expert, Sara Lisy, will moderate a workshop on the use of DC power in non-telecom applications such as data centers and micro grids.
Emerson Network Power will also showcase its latest solutions for telecom including a cost efficient outdoor rectifier, eSure™ high efficiency rectifiers, and the innovative NetSure 400V DC power system. Power systems with 400V DC present several potential advantages over both traditional AC and -48V DC architectures.
“Telecommunications networks have long relied upon DC power distribution for high reliability and performance,” adds Chee Hoe. “For example, 400V DC architecture is especially suited for high efficiency energy delivery and distribution, because it reduces total cost of ownership including operational costs compared to traditional methods. This type of solution has been deployed by networks and data centers in the Asia Pacific region, for example, China, for a number of years and customers are enjoying the benefits of Opex savings in energy efficiencies and modular solutions for quick network expansion.”
Emerson Network Power will have equipment on display and technical experts to answer questions, in booth F8 from 18-22 October at Swissôtel Nankai Osaka. For more information and to view the complete program schedule, visit http://www.intelec2015.org/index.html
